Platform Communications recently appointed Paul Ryan as Associate Director of the company’s Perth office. The move is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to add capacity to its oil & gas business unit.

Paul who has worked for 20 years in corporate affairs, predominately in the energy sector, has joined the Platform team to help clients strategically manage complex issues across a range of internal and external stakeholders.

“WA’s oil and gas industry is entering a new phase as investors and operators look to maximise the value of existing infrastructure, and improve their competitiveness in the face of both new energy technologies and traditional energy sources from new provinces,” Paul said.

“Platform Communications is well placed to help project proponents negotiate these seismic shifts in the competitive landscape, while at the same time managing ongoing regulatory change and increasing community expectations.”

Paul specialises in a range of disciplines including media, stakeholder engagement, government relations, and corporate and investor communications.

“Paul’s enviable experience and skill set is a great addition to the business and is already paying dividends as we reach out to oil and gas clients hungry to lead the conversation and who want an ace up their sleeve when negotiating troubled waters,” said Kirsty Danby, Platform Communications Director.

In addition to the energy sector, Paul has worked in mining and agriculture. He specialises in:

  • Corporate communications
  • Media relations
  • Investor relations
  • Crisis management preparation and execution
  • Internal change management programs
  • Project approvals
  • Building and protecting corporate reputation

Paul is an excellent communicator and can develop strategic plans, issue management and implement communications projects.
